Initiatives
Concepts and projects on the pulse of time
The Business Engineering Institute St.Gallen (BEI) addresses new topics together with its partners. Topics are taken up, structured and together the vision, goals and delivery objects are defined. The procedure coordinated by the BEI enables the efficient achievement of goals with the involvement of all participants. Current initiatives are the OpenBankingProject.ch and the Competence Center Smart Citizen.
OpenBankingProject.ch
The OpenBankingProject.ch was founded in February 2019 as a cross-organizational initiative to promote open banking in Switzerland. The initiative now includes a large number of partners and members who are working together to advance a wide range of topics in line with the open banking concept. These include, for example, digital customer proximity, embedded banking, self-sovereign identity or other topics in the context of “consent-based” data exchange. The OpenBankingProject.ch is convinced that new technologies, data-based business models and standardization and opening up via interfaces, both in the financial industry and beyond, are essential for the strategic development of the Swiss financial center.
Our Initiatives
Smart Citizen
The Smart Citizen initiative complements existing smart city concepts and ideas. It builds on existing Smart City efforts, expands them to include the residents' perspective and also strengthens the supra-regional dimension. The Smart Citizen approaches are not isolated and can be infrastructure-independent.
